The Equal

Back when I was working at Ricardo Pace Hair Studio, I ran into a lot of interesting people. One of which was a Hindu lady, who was then the age that I am now. Being who I was back then, I was unafraid to talk about things in which I believed while the assistant washing their client’s hair at the bowl next to me would talk about the weather or sports (or soap operas).  I found a lot of gems inside people this way- enabling me not only to remember them as people, but also to learn from them.

I was telling this particular lady what was then my seed thoughts about a universal connection that everyone had. As I got to the meat of the matter, her eyes fixed upon me with great interest. When I was done, she mentioned a similar belief, which could be symbolized by a wagon’s wheel.

Imagine eight spokes, framed by an outer wheel and an inner one, onto which the axle would mount. In this illustration, you are the top center spoke. The spokes next to you are family and close friends. The spoke after them are their friends, your distant cousins and acquaintances. By the time you consider the southeast and southwest spokes, you know no one. You are entirely connected to them via your network. Yet, according to this illustration, there is an Equal or Opposite Self. They could be at the opposing end of the network, or the other side of the Earth… but the point to the existence of this opposing person is found in the Balance of Life.

Or so she stated. In honesty, the Opposing Person theory becomes nothing more than speculation as far as there being a single person that balances you, at least in my mind. Here is that speculation: After meditating on this Opposing Person Theory (which we will now refer to as OPT), I had a picture in my head that signified a taut line running through the center of the world. In the evolution of this OPT, everyone would have this form of connection. If this was the case, there would be a dense Centre of connections at the center point of this world. THAT’S where my Human Hive Consciousness was born. If there were this huge ball of yarn of mental connections to everyone’s Opposing Person, these connections would eventually have to fuse if they were sharing the same space. Even living as close neighbors, these lines could very well pass ‘thought-energy’ to their neighboring lines. In this way, one has the simple foundations upon which I built my theories about Human Interconnectivity.

About the Opposing Person itself, I don’t honestly believe that everyone has a doppleganger or a ‘twin’ specifically and only for the purpose of balancing the other. That being said, I still entertain the idea that there IS a complementary person (CP) out there for everyone. Yet, just as you do, these CP’s live their lives and make their own choices.

My favorite analogy to illustrate this idea is the phenomenon of the egyptian/mayan peramids. Since I do not have the audacity to claim that aliens exist and that these pyramids were simply landing platforms that happened to be built on different hemispheres of the world, I have merely taken what I know to exist and, pardon the pun, made the connection. It happens all the time, really. Before the internet and telecommunications all across the world, people still managed to have a universal grasp on technology within a short time span.

I was asked recently to define the CP a bit more, but I have nothing on that directly. Despite this, I DO have an indirect consideration.

We all know of what the human race is capable. There are icons of human good and human evil (as defined from what they either gave to or had taken away from the race as a whole) all throughout history. We humans are constantly balanced, not only by the world in which we live or by each other, but also within ourselves. We have the choice to become whatever we feel inclined- even the absolutes of good and evil. For those people who positively affected the world, they are manifestations of our best. Similarly, those people that did great harms to the world are manifestations of our worst qualities. Despite the trend that everything works as a scale, I want to emphasize that these extreme manifestations are fed upon by the whole of the human race. The great evils are a culmination of our fears. The great lights int he world are called upon by our most sincere hopes. Good and Evil are asked for and meditated about. If you don’t see that there is a lot of ‘light’ left int he world, the light must first exist in you in order to come about. It’s a power we’ve all been given. In times of darkness, the human race seems to pull through… and the credit for all acts goes to each individual in the world.

You see, it’s not just one person upon which we have some invisible influence… we have the ability to influence everyone in the world. Be what you feel the world needs and find similar minds. through small, collective efforts, we can change the world in very big ways.
