The Human Hive Consciousness
January 14th, 2010 by Jeremy
It’s my term for the interconnectivity of the human spirits that live within the world today. I feel that it is time that I’ve described this belief of mine in full.
The trend is that everything in this universe is made up of something smaller than itself. Beginning from the smallest admitted entity, the atom, everything that we perceive is possible- like matter and energy. We humans are not exempt from this trend, as our cells are made up of matter. Our cells make up tissues, which make up organs, which give way to systems and finally, a human body is realized. Living human bodies make up societies, nations and the world’s population. Ecosystems work the same way for plants and animals.
It is consistently said that we are connected to this ecosystem. We breathe, adding to the inventory of the CO2 that the trees breathe in. We require the resources of this world to live out our lives. Before the sewage systems were put into effect, people gave back what they ate of nature via their ‘wastes’, which is beneficial for the surrounding environment.
Having briefly demonstrated the modular approach that life has currently in effect, I would like to make evident that the planet, in this relationship, is actually an organism. The human, plant, insect and animal sectors maintain a relationship with the Earth, much in the way that our muscles maintain a relationship with our bones. Water and microorganisms form the blood in this planetary body. Remove the muscles and blood and you have a planet like Mars or Venus.
Let’s go backwards from here. There are specific cells that make up each individual tissue. In this example, I would like to relate humans to the cells that make up our muscles. Though our muscles are made to give motion to the human body, each of them are intricately lined with nerves. Despite the apparent purpose of muscle, they are also meant to feel. No matter what muscles are damaged or over exerted, they each have the ability to relay pain information to the brain.
Woah- did I say ‘brain’? How does the brain fit into all of this?
Each complex organism has one. They vary in complexity, storage and intelligence. Each organism with a brain also displays varied evidence of individuality, or self awareness- no matter how small the brain is. Within the insect, animal and human sectors, there is a hierarchy of brains- ranging from that of a gnat to those of the human race. Just as the nerves are made up of the same material as that of the brain, each brain makes up the nervous system of the planet. Voila- Earth’s neural net.
Although each neuron that makes up our nervous system cannot call information from the brain to itself, our brains have varied capacities to access the information stored in its web. Similarly, information is stored within the tissues, be they pain, tension, pleasure, elasticity and health. Though cells within the tissue die, the information contained within that cell continues to remain pertinent, or at least ‘remembered’.
Massive trauma or intense pleasure given to the planetary body is recognized by the whole- on a conscious level outside that of our augmented nervous system which consists of the internet, radio and television. Furthermore, we are able to differentiate the type of ‘message’ received by the body.
Considering the relationship we have with the world, what makes the suggestion that even the memories of those preceding us remaining in our own memories impossible? I don’t mean books… but the information in the network of brains. Though possibly having lost the original integrity or emotional impact, I believe that all information perceived by the minds of the planet-wide network is never lost. I also believe that each thought, be they active or innately stored within our brains, can be read and recognized by every other brain in its network.
I will leave this discussion with something to meditate upon. If it takes just one rogue cell to begin the manifestation of cancer within a body, could not a healthy cell begin the restoration of health in the body? If all the hate you perceive in this world is the manifestation of a disease on the planetary level, could not we each take part in activating the immune system in the interest of self preservation?
